Merapi Mountain
Mount merapi is active mountain in
Indonesia. This mount was erupted on 2010, 2006, 1969, 1786, 1822, 1872, 1930,
1994, 1998, 2001, 2003. The volcanic ash spread until Magelang and Sleman,
Central Java. Small eruption usually happen every 2-3 for a year and big
eruption every 10-15 for a year. We can say that this mountain is the most
active volcano in Indonesia.
Drawbacks of merapi mount
is putting out the dangereous lava, gray gas, cold lava would disturb people
activity, ash volcano could disturb flights and destroy plants. Advantage of
merapi mountain is be used for forest, plantation and tour area, there are so
many mining, sand, gravel and big stone can be used for building materials and
ash volcano can fertilize. Because, every drawbacks has an advantages. We can
take the benefits and use it for our necessary.
Grandfather Maridjan or
Mbah Maridjan is gatekeeper of mount merapi. He become gatekeeper since 1970
from Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana IX. He was died on October27 2010 when Mount Merapi
erupted. He got an award from Yogyakarta as Conservationists Customs and Traditions on November29 2011.
As
conclusion, mount merapi is the most active volcano and was erupted for several
times. This volcano has yearly eruption, that’s 2-3 year for little erupt and
10-15 year for big erupt. Not only drawbacks, but mount merapi also have
advantages. Mbah maridjan is gatekeeper of mount merapi, but he was died on
2011 because eruption of volcano.
Indonesia
have many volcano, but also make our country become fertile country. We can
take the benefits after eruption. Thanks.
